The Fate of the US Dollar Index

Geithner finally found a way to officially tank the US dollar with help of the major central banks around the world. Will this be the fate of the US Dollar??? I think it may be.

  1. Funny, you look at the USD and see a bearish chart, I look at the USD and see a bullish chart, but that's what makes markets huh.

One thing for sure, I think we're on the cusp of a major move either way.
If Europe tanks deflationary pressures will drive the dollar much higher, if the CB's are successful and the European banks take up trillions of dollars then inflationary pressures will drive the dollar lower.

My concern is that thus far the CB's have failed to stave off deflationary pressures and I think that soon rather than later Europe and China(now with significant problems) will bring down the global economy.

When the same annoucement was made back in 2008 by the same group of CB's the markets collapsed a 3 days later.

I think this rally will be short lived. We are nearly there.

  2. hey beetlejuice and thanks for the feedback. I have a bullish count, but it's ugly and involves truncation within the 3rd wave. No me gusta. I want to believe you're correct, but our govt does everything to tank the dollar. If you look at past equity rallies long term they come with a declining dollar. I think this rally is here to stay, but will gladly jump bearish if/when the time comes, but I don't think it's now. Thank you for visiting the blog!
